Daily Tour to Chios Island South Tour

Starting at 08:30, we meet at TURYOL ÇEŞME CHECK-IN OFFICE for customs and passport procedures. At 09:00, we safely depart towards Chios Island aboard TURYOL FAST FERRIES, passing through Çeşme bays and alongside lighthouses. After an enjoyable sea journey of approximately 30 minutes, we arrive at our Turyol Chios Island office (opposite the port) by 11:30, where we take our seats in the vehicle and begin our tour towards the villages located in the south of Chios Island, known for being the sole producer of Mastic Gum under the name MASTIHAHORIA.

Our first stop is MESTA, a medieval architectural marvel that has preserved its structure remarkably well between castle and village. This place takes us back to the 13th century, offering a journey through time with its ancient stone walls and labyrinthine passages leading to the village square, where we take a coffee break. After visiting Taxiarchis Church, we depart from the village.

Next is PYRGĺ village, renowned for its unique geometric patterns on house facades known as Xista, a historic technique practiced for centuries since the Genoese era. Our guide provides detailed information about its historical significance.

Following this, we enjoy lunch and swimming break at KARFAS, the island's most famous beach with its golden sands and distinctive atmosphere. Here, guests can choose from a variety of seafood and meze options from a different themed menu and enjoy the beach.

Our final stop is TABAKIKA, where you must see the four windmills by the sea, a significant symbol of the island. Historically, these windmills provided water to the leather tanneries (also known as tabakika) in the region. Recently restored with contributions from the municipality, it has become a must-visit spot for tourists wanting to capture memorable photographs without missing out.

After some free time for photographs, we head back towards the port upon completing customs procedures. We conclude our journey back to Izmir Çeşme aboard our ship, enjoying a delightful day in the blue waters of the Aegean Sea before returning to Çeşme.
